Mucuna Pruriens, or Velven Bean, is a tropical bean native to Africa and South East Asia which is widely cultivated for use as a food source and in herbalism. Mucuna Pruriens is high in L-DOPA which is often supplemented to support mood and healthy stress management.

Our Mucuna Pruriens supplement is a 25:1 standardized extract of L-DOPA from the Velvet Bean (Mucuna Pruriens).

We recommend taking a dosage of 1000 mg per day (2 capsules), taken on an empty stomach. It is not recommended to exceed 2000 mg (4 capsules) per day.

Mucuna Pruriens Extract is non-toxic and well tolerated at normal doses. Side effects are rare but nausea, abdominal discomfort, vomiting, and insomnia have sometimes been reported.

It’s not recommended to exceed 4 capsules per day as it is possible to overdose on Mucuna Pruriens, the symptoms of which include headaches, fatigue, tremors, fainting, and thirst.
