Boswellia, also known as Indian frankincense, is an herbal extract obtained from the Boswellia serrata tree. Boswellia has been used for centuries in both Asian and African folk medicines for a variety of purposes. Boswellia Extracts have recently become popular supplements for joint and skin health.

Double Wood’s Boswellia is standardized to 65% boswellic acid, which is the active ingredient in Boswellia Extract believed to provide most of its benefits. Typically, the boswellic acid content is used to compare potency between different Boswellia Extracts and our 65% extract is more potent than average.

To support joint health, take 2 capsules (1000 mg) per day with or without food. While higher doses can be taken safely if desired we do not recommend exceeding 4 capsules (2000 mg) per day as side effects are more likely at higher doses.

Boswellia is well tolerated at normal doses and side effects are rare, though nausea, acid reflux, rashes, and diarrhea have been reported as possible side effects.

Warning: Boswellia should not be used by pregnant women as there have been a few reports of miscarriage induced in pregnant women shortly after starting to use Boswellia Extracts.
